Appearance: Dense ruby-purple color.
Nose: "A" d'Aumières possesses an expansive nose of black-currant and red raspberries.
Palate: The mouth is opulently-textured and concentrated, and this wine should drink for 10 to 15 years.
Terroir: Deep and well-drained; dominated by clay and limestone substances and covered by stones.
Climate: The combination of northern interior winds, with those from the south-western Mediterranean, moderate extreme temperatures but also dry the vines after the rain.
Yield: 30 hl/ha from 25-year-old vines.
Alcohol: 13,5 % vol.
Wine-making: The hand-picked grapes are initially destemmed before beginning fermentation in temperature-controlled stainless-steel vats for approximately 20 - 25 days, with periodic pumping over in order to achieve the ideal tannic extraction levels.
Aging: 14 months in new French oak barrels.
Bottling: At the château.
Total production: 7,000 bottles per year.
